Prairie Style Console Table

Prairie Style Console Table

Group Project: Alyssa Holcomb, Claudia Rodriguez, Adriana Nunez, Autumn Mizer
The Prairie Style was developed by architects like Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan in Chicago around 1900. These architects merged the ideals of the arts and crafts movement with it's emphasis on nature, craftsmanship and simplicity. The most defining characteristic is the emphasis on horizontal rather than vertical. This console table welcomes family members and friends as they enter a home. Using the two popular elements of the prairie style, stained glass and wood were chosen to correlate with the rest of the space and style. The furniture piece is made of oak with geometric stained glass panels inset in the posts.
